MPO Solutions PMCM is seeking to fill a mid-management level position for a Registered Professional Civil Engineer (Texas PE). The position provides technical and leadership expertise for infrastructure projects across aviation, commercial, educational, industrial, and transportation sectors. The role is responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions, providing technical leadership to project teams, and contributing to business development initiatives as part of a growing team supporting municipal clients in Prime role. Key responsibilities include collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, and implementation of strategies to optimize project timelines and outcomes. Work will primarily support the firm's Program Management and Owner's Representative services, with additional support for Engineering service offerings.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Leadership
- Support of civil engineering design work, including power distribution systems, lighting systems, emergency power systems, and commissioning activities
- Conduct comprehensive facility electrical system condition assessments and evaluations, developing recommendations for repair, rehabilitation, or replacement strategies.
- Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, cost estimates, specifications, and design documentation.
Project Delivery
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality, schedule, and budget requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
- Monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, and implement corrective strategies.
Staff Development
- Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering technical growth and professional development.
- Provide guidance on technical approaches and engineering problem-solving.
- Support career advancement of team members in a supervisory role.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas
- Minimum 5 years of post-licensure design experience
- Experience with relevant design software and engineering tools
- ASCE or other professional society involvement
- Demonstrate knowledge of design-build or progressive design-build project delivery methods.
Preferred Qualifications
- Extensive design experience in drainage systems, including stormwater collection and conveyance, detention and retention facility sizing, floodplain analysis, and hydraulic/hydrological modeling; proficient in WaterGEMS and SewerGEMS for water distribution and sanitary sewer network modeling and system capacity analysis.
- Proven expertise in pavement design across flexible and rigid pavement systems, including structural section design, rehabilitation strategy development, materials evaluation, and lifecycle cost analysis for aviation, transportation, and municipal applications.
- Demonstrated experience in dam design, evaluation, and rehabilitation encompassing embankment dam analysis, spillway hydraulics, outlet structure design, and emergency action planning in accordance with TCEQ dam safety regulations.
- Experienced in navigating Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) permitting processes, including stormwater permits, water quality authorizations, and dam safety submittals
- Working knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and TxDOT design standards as applied to airfield grading and drainage, roadway design, and infrastructure projects serving aviation and transportation clients.
