MPO Solutions is a growing firmseeking to fill a senior level position for a Registered ProfessionalElectrical Engineer (TX PE). This role sits above our Electrical Engineer, PEposition and carries expanded technical leadership, project delivery, and businessdevelopment responsibilities for electrical engineering projects acrossaviation, industrial, and transportation markets in both public and privatesectors.

The role is responsible for delivering high-quality design solutions,providing technical leadership to project teams, and driving businessdevelopment initiatives as part of a growing team supporting municipal clientsin a Prime role. Key responsibilities include collaborating withmultidisciplinary teams to monitor project progress, identify potentialschedule impacts, and implementing strategies to optimize project timelines andoutcomes. Work will primarily support the firm's Program Management, TechnicalServices, and Owner's Representative services. This is a fully on-site rolebased out of our Irving, TX office.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership
  • Provide technical oversight of electrical engineering design work,including power distribution systems, lighting systems, emergency powersystems, and commissioning activities.
  • Conduct comprehensive facility electrical system conditionassessments and evaluations, developing recommendations for repair,rehabilitation, or replacement strategies.
  • Provide strategic directions on complex technical challenges anddesign solutions.
  • Ensure quality control and adherence to applicable codes,standards, and best practices including NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NETA ATS, and ASHRAE.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports with findings, cost estimates,specifications, and design documentation.
Project Delivery
  • Lead multidisciplinary design teams through all project phasesfrom concept to construction.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining quality,schedule, and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate with clients, subconsultants, contractors, andregulatory agencies.
  • Develop project scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential schedule impacts, andimplement corrective strategies.
Business Development
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within companytargeted market sectors.
  • Prepare compelling proposals and technical presentations forprospective clients.
  • Participate in industry organizations and networking events.
  • Present at client meetings, public forums, and industryconferences.
Staff Development
  • Mentor and develop engineering staff in a supervisory capacity,fostering technical growth and professional development.
  • Provide guidance on technical approaches and engineering problemsolving.
  • Support career advancement of direct reports and team members.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABETaccredited program.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas.
  • 10 or more years of post-licensure design experience in electricalengineering.
  • Active involvement in IEEE, NFPA, IESNA, or other professionalsocieties.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of design build or progressive design buildproject delivery methods.
  • Ability to work 100% on site at our Irving, TX office.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) or Building CommissioningProfessional (BCxP) certification.
  • LEED Accredited Professional (AP) credential.
Experience
  • Extensive design experience in power distribution systems,including medium and low voltage distribution, switchgear, transformers, andprotective relaying.
  • Proven expertise in lighting systems design for variousapplications including interior, exterior, airfield, roadway, and specializedindustrial lighting.
  • Demonstrated experience in emergency power systems includinggenerators, UPS systems, automatic transfer switches, and life safety systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical system commissioningprocesses per NETA ATS and ASHRAE standards, including functional performancetesting and startup procedures.

Physical Demands

This position is fully on site,based primarily in an office setting with occasional visits to project sites.The employee must be able to sit for extended periods while working at acomputer workstation, operating standard office equipment, and reviewingtechnical documents and drawings. Specific vision abilities required includeclose vision for detailed design work, the ability to read computer screens forextended periods, and the ability to adjust focus when reviewing documents andplans.

The position requires the abilityto use hands and fingers to operate computers, keyboards, and other officeequipment, as well as to handle documents and writing instruments. The employeemust be able to communicate effectively in person, by telephone, and in virtualmeetings, requiring the ability to speak clearly and hear conversational tones.

Occasional site visits mayrequire the ability to walk on uneven terrain, navigate active constructionsites, climb temporary or permanent stairs, and access areas under developmentor construction. Site visits may involve exposure to outdoor weather conditionsand construction site environments. When conducting condition assessments orsite inspections, the employee may need to stand, walk, bend, stoop, or crouchto observe infrastructure conditions. The ability to wear required personalprotective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and steel-toedboots during site visits is required.
