Assessment and Preventative Maintenance Review of HVAC Systems

MPO Solutions served as the assessment consultant for DFW Airport's HVAC Preventative Maintenance Assessment, delivering a documented engineering-based assessment and review of the preventative maintenance efforts being performed on HVAC systems across multiple critical airport facilities. By applying retro-commissioning principles to verify system performance and identify preventative maintenance issues, MPO established a technical baseline of existing conditions and maintenance practices, equipping DFW with the insight needed to optimize HVAC reliability, extend equipment life, and strengthen long-term operational performance.

Scope included onsite verification of existing systems, review of BAS trending information, and assessment of existing conditions for HVAC systems serving the Airport Headquarters (AHQ), DPS Headquarters, Rental Car Center, DPS Fire Stations No. 1 through 6, and the DCC. Key services included the assessment of 1,095 HVAC assets through visual observations, functional testing with condition ratings, and the evaluation of preventative maintenance practices against current system performance. Findings, functional tests with condition ratings, life expectancy projections, recommendations, and an issues log were consolidated into an interactive report deliverable, providing DFW with a comprehensive resource to guide maintenance strategy and future capital planning.
