DFW International Airport

MPO Solutions executed a facility condition and risk assessment of DFW Airport's Campus West facility, with focused evaluation of Buildings B and F. Originally constructed in the 1970s and renovated in 2006, the campus consists of interdependent buildings housing critical infrastructure systems, with Building B operating as a central utility plant serving multiple campus buildings, including Building F (Data Center 2 – DC2). The work established the technical basis to identify life safety, reliability, and operational risks, equipping DFW with prioritized recommendations and a conceptual framework to plan the long-term future of one of the airport's most operationally interdependent campuses.
Project activities encompassed evaluation of existing system conditions across Building B and the development of a phased implementation strategy for capital improvements, along with an assessment of Building F's ability to operate as a standalone facility in the event of a Campus West demolition. Key services included a conceptual design criteria package outlining the infrastructure systems required for Building F (DC-2) to operate independently, supported by a risk analysis of findings and recommendations. Deliverables were consolidated into a Final Executive Summary in compliance with the DFW Standard format.
