DFW International Airport

MPO Solutions served as the engineering consultant for DFW Airport's Terminal Irrigation Systems Evaluation, delivering a documented engineering-based infrastructure evaluation of selected irrigation systems at Terminals A, B, D, and E. Originally installed in the 1970s and operated and maintained by DFW's Energy, Transportation, and Asset Management Department (ETAM), the system comprises numerous independently programmed irrigation controllers communicating with a centralized computer. MPO's work established the technical basis to determine the operable condition of these systems and define recommendations for rehabilitation, replacement, and water efficiency improvements aligned with the latest water conservation standards.
Scope included a review of existing documentation, interviews with DFW Airport Irrigation staff, and ground activities consisting of functional testing checklists for the controllers and valves to assess physical condition and inform conceptual design development. Findings, capital recommendations, condition ratings, and cost estimates were consolidated into an interactive report deliverable to ETAM, providing DFW with a clear roadmap to modernize the irrigation system and advance the airport's commitment to sustainable resource management.

MPO Solutions provides overall program oversight and management of various facilities related assessments for the Energy Transportation and Asset Management Department (ETAM) of DFW Airport.
