Emergency Power System Resiliency Evaluation

MPO Solutions is leading the documented engineering-based condition assessment of DFW Airport's emergency power systems serving designated non-terminal facilities. The work establishes the technical basis to evaluate current physical condition, operational reliability, code compliance, training needs, and remaining useful life of emergency power equipment, providing DFW with actionable data for capital planning, maintenance prioritization, and system resiliency improvements across a portfolio of generators, UPS, static inverters, ATS, and associated switchgear that safeguard continuity of critical operations during utility power interruptions.

The assessment encompasses review of existing operations and maintenance documentation, as-built drawings, equipment submittals, manufacturer recommendations, and historical test and inspection reports for all target systems, along with evaluation of system integration with the Airport's Building Automation System (BAS) to identify monitoring and communication gaps. Key services include a gap analysis of the existing third-party maintenance provider contract to identify scope gaps, misalignments with manufacturer-recommended intervals, and coverage deficiencies, benchmarked against NFPA 70E, NFPA 70B, NFPA 70, NFPA 110, NETA, and IEEE standards, equipping DFW with a prioritized roadmap for remediation, replacement, and optimized operation and maintenance strategy.
