Engineering Assessment of Indoor Firing Range

MPO Solutions led an engineering-based assessment of the HVAC and Building Automation Systems (BAS) serving DFW Airport's DPS Firing Range Facility, located at 1533 West 27th Street in Grapevine, Texas. The assessment was directed at identifying the current operational status of the systems, determining the action items required for the range to operate per the original design intent, and projecting the remaining useful life of the HVAC and BAS equipment, equipping DFW with the technical basis needed to restore performance and plan for long-term system reliability.

Scope included onsite inspection, diagnostic testing, adjusting and balancing, and DDC controls verification of the range HVAC systems and their respective BAS graphical interface, along with a building envelope inspection to document current performance and identify contributing factors. Key services included field assessment, performance verification against design intent, and the development of action items and useful life projections, delivering DFW a comprehensive understanding of the facility's HVAC and BAS condition to inform maintenance, rehabilitation, and capital planning decisions.
