Stormwater Outfall Grading

MPO Solutions served as the engineering consultant for DFW Airport's Stormwater Outfalls and Channels Condition Assessment, delivering a documented engineering-based condition assessment of forty (40) stormwater outfalls and open channels supporting the Southeast Holding Pad (SEHP). MPO's work established the technical basis to determine the adequacy of structural outfall headwalls, proper stormwater drainage, and the grading of open channel areas, equipping DFW with an accurate representation of the current conditions of the drainage system.

MPO led an assessment team that conducted a comprehensive evaluation of each outfall and channel. Key services included physical condition assessments based on visual examinations, topographic surveys, and drainage analysis. Ground activities determined that one (1) outfall was in failed condition, five (5) were in poor condition, twenty-one (21) were in fair condition, and thirteen (13) were in good condition. Findings were consolidated into a final report deliverable to ETAM, equipping DFW with a prioritized basis to plan corrective actions across the drainage system supporting the SEHP.
