Terminal D ITS Room HVAC & BAS

MPO Solutions served as the engineering consultant for DFW Airport's Terminal D ITS Communication Rooms HVAC and BAS Evaluation, delivering a documented engineering-based conditional study of the HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and Building Automation System (BAS) serving the Terminal D ITS Communication Rooms. The MPO-Matador Joint Venture evaluation assessment was performed by licensed engineers who reviewed the assets against industry standards and regulatory requirements, establishing the technical basis to validate the operational obsolescence, effectiveness, and BAS integration of these systems and supporting the reliability of the communication infrastructure that underpins critical airport operations.

Scope included a review of existing documentation, site visits, and visual assessment of the HVAC systems serving each Comm Room, covering air handling units, fan powered boxes, exhaust fans, and the associated electrical and lighting systems. Key services included evaluation of existing test reports, review of sequence of operations, schedules, and setpoints for energy efficiency, and the development of a conceptual design to deliver an improved operational environment. Findings, capital recommendations, and cost estimates were consolidated into an interactive report deliverable to ETAM, equipping DFW with a clear roadmap to modernize and integrate the Terminal D Comm Rooms with the Airport's BAS.
