Trigg Lake Dam Assessment and Annual Inspections

the TexasCommission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requires the DFW Airport, the Ownerand Operator of the Trigg Lake Dam, (Identification Number TX05801, classifiedby TCEQ as an Intermediate High Hazard Dam, to obtain the services of anindependent team of Professional Engineers or other dam experts to determinethe adequacy of the design, construction, or operation of the dam. AProfessional Engineer shall conduct activities associated with the dam, whichinclude:

A.  Engineering inspections of all damsclassified as high or significant hazard dams and large, low hazard dams.

B.  Preparation of plans, specifications,evaluation, and analysis reports described in 30TAC 299.43;

C. Observeor monitor the progress and quality of construction, modification,rehabilitation, repair, maintenance, and demolition activities related to thedam.

MPO Solutions was engaged to lead an engineering assessment team to conduct annualinspections and training of DFW O&M staff Educational and Training Services.Efforts included conducting emergency inspections, dam operation, dam breachanalysis, Maintenance Manual reviews, and Training on the use of the Inclometer.
